Rules and Requirements for Merchants on UnturnedForge

1. Merchant Policies

1.1 General Guidelines

  • All sellers must adhere to the UnturnedForge Terms of Service.
  • Sellers must be at least 16 years old to apply. Any PayPal account used must comply with PayPal's User Agreement, which may require management by a parent or guardian for individuals under 18.
  • Sellers are responsible for ensuring their account information (e.g., payment information, profile biography, etc.) is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Seller status is granted at the discretion of UnturnedForge and may be revoked at any time.

1.2 Professional Conduct

  • Sellers must communicate professionally with consumers and respond to inquiries within 48 hours.
  • Communication must be conducted in English to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Sellers must avoid abusive language, harassment, or any behavior that could tarnish the platform's reputation.

1.3 Product Submission Standards

  • Sellers must provide at least two references to open-source released projects when applying. If open-source references are unavailable, sellers may submit source code directly upon request for evaluation.
  • Sellers are responsible for ensuring their products do not infringe on intellectual property rights.

1.4 Profile Presentation

  • Sellers' profile pictures and display names must be appropriate, non-offensive, and professional. Examples of prohibited content include explicit imagery, hate symbols, or misleading names.
  • Profiles must accurately reflect the identity of the seller or their brand.

1.5 Legal & Security Obligations

  • Sellers must ensure that all products, including plugins or scripts, are free of malicious code.
  • Sellers must comply with local laws and regulations regarding software development distribution and commerce.

2. Verified Seller Program

A distinction for sellers who demonstrate consistent quality, reliability, and professionalism.

Verified Sellers gain additional benefits such as a green verified checkmark icon and bypassing the product review stage, allowing for immediate product publishing. To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

2.1 Minimum Contributions

  • Must have published at least two free products on the platform.
  • Must comply with the Product Guidelines, demonstrate originality, and have a minimum rating of 4 stars (if rated).
  • Free products serve as a demonstration of the seller's skill and commitment to the community.

2.2 Experience & Activity

  • Must have been active on the platform for a six-month minimum.
  • Must maintain consistent activity (responding to inquiries, updating products).
  • Must demonstrate good standing with no major infractions.

2.3 Professional Conduct

  • Maintain a positive relationship with consumers by addressing support requests, bug reports, and feedback in a timely manner.
  • Should not have unresolved disputes or excessive negative feedback.

2.4 Quality & Verification

  • Products submitted must consistently meet or exceed platform quality standards.
  • The platform team will review contributions, activity, and conduct over the past six months from the initial verification application.
  • Verified status is granted at the discretion of UnturnedForge and may be revoked at any time.

3. Product Guidelines

3.1 General Info

  • All information about a product must be displayed in English.
  • Products must be relevant to the video game Unturned and provide additional functionality through plugins or external software.
  • Information should be displayed and written professionally in a clean layout.

3.2 Listing Details

  • Products must include an overview of their purpose and functionality (e.g., features, commands).
  • External libraries, frameworks, and/or plugins must be listed on the product's information tab.
  • Tags must be relevant to the product.
  • Products may not contain advertisements to sites unaffiliated with UnturnedForge or the seller.
  • If applicable, products must detail proper codes, keys, enumerators, etc. that assist with functionality (e.g. permission strings).

3.3 Data & Privacy

  • Plugins must not collect, store, or transmit server/player data to third parties outside of the consumer's server(s) without clear notification to the consumer.
  • If third-party data handling is a part of the plugin, a brief data policy should be included in the description.

3.4 Piracy & Plagiarism

  • Products cannot be one-to-one copies of another product. There must be a clear difference in functionality.
  • Products must not include stolen, plagiarized, or unauthorized code, assets, or designs.

3.5 Support & Maintenance

  • Products must include information on how to reach the developer for support.
  • Products must be updated/modified in response to any changes to major frameworks or the base game that would cause the product to be non-functional.
  • Products no longer being supported should add the 'Unmaintained' tag. Products that become unusable will be removed.

3.6 Media & Icons

  • Product icons should be made clean and appealing.
  • Products must use a unique product icon that is relevant and unused by another developer.
  • Product media (YouTube videos, galleries) should demonstrate features in a non-misleading manner.

3.7 Pricing Guidelines

  • Products cannot be priced above 30 USD unless an admin gives written approval.
  • An admin should approve price changes to published products of more than 20% before the change.
  • Sellers cannot accept digital tokens (e.g. Steam skins) or prepaid devices/codes as a means of paying for a product.
  • Products must be priced appropriately according to their functionality and quality (e.g., A simple TPA plugin should not cost 25+ USD).
